He finds it hard to behave properly on the escalator, for instance, or in smart London shops. But everyone knows he is a very well-meaning bear, and Judy and Jonathan Brown do their best to save him from as many difficult incidents as possible. In spite of this however, Paddington lands himself in enough amusing situations to make a book filled with delightful unexpected episodes. Like Winnie the Pooh and Mary Plain, Paddington is a bear to remember. The author writes in a simple, straightforward style which younger children will find easy to read.
