Seagull is purely fiction, but its timeless story is based on and dedicated to the men who served bravely in small boats during and after the war. About the Author Now retired, Ronald Botham served in the Royal Army from 1947 until early 1950, first in the Royal Army Service Corps and later in the Royal Artillery as a radio operator observer in aircraft.
